Pwdin Bara Menyn -- Bread and Butter Pudding Easy, simple and good!
Butter the bread. Place slice of the bread in an ovenproof dish and cover with the fruit (sultanas or currents) and sugar. Repeat until all the bread, fruit and sugar are used up. Beat the egg and add to the milk. Strain the liquid over the bread and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with a little nutmeg and bake in a moderate oven (350°) for 45 minutes until the top is crisp and golden.
